Trekking Tiscali
The Village of Tiscali is a unique Nuragic settlement, extraordinary for its topography and architecture. Nestled within a vast hollow, scholars believe it was probably the last bastion of the Nuragic people against the advance of the Romans.
Mount Tiscali, which rises to about 500 meters, forms a natural boundary between the regions of Supramonte of Oliena and Dorgali.
At the top of the mountain lies the hollow, originally a karst cave. After the collapse of the vault, the cavity has gradually been reclaimed by a rich variety of Mediterranean scrub, creating a suggestive natural sanctuary where history and nature meet.
Departure from your accommodation in Dorgali or Cala Gonone aboard a Jeep.
The journey continues along the scenic road that crosses the Valley of Lanaitho, until reaching the starting point of the trail.
The trek follows the spectacular limestone walls of Mount Tiscali, winding along ancient paths once used by local charcoal burners.
At the end of the visit, you return to the Jeep, where a typical lunch with cold local products will be served (if included in the selected package).
