Trekking in the Gorropu Canyon
The erosive force of the Rio Flumineddu has created the deepest canyon in Italy and one of the most important in Europe.
The canyon walls rise over 400 meters, enclosing a wild and fascinating landscape.
A must-see destination for hikers from all over the world, accessible even to less experienced visitors.
Departure from the Hotel by Jeep.
The route follows the Oddoene Valley to the ford on the Rio Flumineddu, then continues for about 6 km of dirt road until reaching the start of the trail.
A trekking route of about 900 meters downhill leads to the entrance of the canyon.
Walking along the riverbed, the Gola di Gorropu winds through three different levels of difficulty.
In the first stretch, visitors can admire the taller and closer canyon walls, as well as the presence of unique endemic species.
