A Ray of Light in the Darkness
Hidden in the heart of Sardinia, the Sa Nurre e sa Hoda Cave is located between the territories of Oliena and Dorgali, at the foot of the majestic Monte Tiscali.
For a few weeks each year, visitors can witness a breathtaking natural phenomenon: a ray of sunlight pierces the darkness, illuminating the depths of the cave in a dazzling display of light and shadow!

Departure from your accommodation in Dorgali or Cala Gonone with off-road vehicles.
The journey continues through the beautiful Lanaitho Valley, accessible by 4x4.

Once you arrive at the beginning of the trail, you will walk approximately 900 meters through the Horojos Canyon, which leads to the entrance of the cave.
Equipped with professional caving helmets, you will safely enter the cave through a tunnel that opens the way to this extraordinary underground world.

After exploring the various chambers, we will stop to witness a truly magical moment: the appearance of a ray of sunlight filtering through the upper opening.

Thanks to the unique angle of the sun, a natural phenomenon that occurs from mid-May to early September, in about 30 minutes the cave transitions from total darkness to complete illumination, creating an unforgettable and almost surreal experience.

If I could give 10 stars, I absolutely would! Hotel Brancamaria is a true hidden gem. The staff were the friendliest I encountered in all of Italy — welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. The check-in and check-out were a breeze, and the location is excellent, within walking distance of the marina. The breakfast was wonderful, and the full-course dinner menu was equally impressive — delicious and beautifully presented. As a thoughtful touch, we had to check out before dawn, and the staff kindly prepared breakfast lunch boxes for us to take on the road. I also loved the two adorable little dogs around the property — they added a lovely, homely charm. I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Brancamaria and truly praise the entire staff for making our stay exceptional.
